70th Anniversary of Marvel Set

I've been invited by Marvel Comics and Rittenhouse Archives to work on the new "70th Anniversary of Marvel Comics" trading card set, due to launch in 2010!
One of my cards was also selected as one of the sample cards displayed on the Rittenhouse web site to promote the release...:)  My card was one I did of the beautiful and deadly Elektra!

It is an honor to be working for Marvel once again... and a very distinct privilege to have my art used by Rittenhouse!

I personally believe that the cards I'm creating for this set are, by far, the best work I've done to date! I'm excited to see this set launch....!

Indianna Jaymes new featured Model !
Can an artist be any more blessed than I am when it comes to the models that assit in creating the artwork?  Nope!

Please make the acquaintance of the lovely Ms. Indianna Jaymes... :)   She has joined us here at the Studio to work on some new pin-up art and, hopefully, a secret project that I have been working on for some time...!   I'm very excited to be collaborating with her... and I think you will be too when you see the finished art!

"Mandy" trading cards launch
It was a real pleasure to be included on the "Mandy" trading card set, produced by 5Finity! This set made tribute to the legendary Playboy artist, Dean Yeagle, and his wonderful little creation, Mandy.

I tried to elevate my game for this set, as I really wanted to do justice to Mr. Yeagle and his work.   And, because it's such a joy to work on the 5Finity projects!   A sample of my work on the set is below... and the link will take you to 5Finity's site where you can get more information on their products.   All of my cards will be posted here in the Gallery as soon as I have been given approval to do so...:)

Go buy some packs today and try to pull one of my sketches...:)

Jenny Poussin joins the studio!
It is an honor to introduce the newest member of Bad Axe Studios... and our very good friend... the fabulous Ms. Jenny Poussin!   Jenny will be working as a featured model on several new print and art projects.   All of which you will definately not want to miss...!

Keep an eye out here for new images, art and other goodies from Axebone and the beautiful Ms. Poussin...!

Axe to draw Spidey for Marvel

X-Men Archives artist!
Well... it's official now, so I can announce that I am one of the artists on Marvel Comics "X-Men Archives" trading card set... set for release July 8, 2009!!

I'm VERY proud and excited to be a part of this project!   I did 100 original sketch cards for this set... and they can all be veiwed here in the Gallery.

Work coming for Legends & Lore
Another project just released, that I am one of the artists contributing original
sketch card art for, is the new trading card set "LEGENDS AND LORE".

I created 30 original sketch cards
that are randmly inserted into sets of
these trading cards.   These cards can all be viewed here in the Gallery.

Along with the original sketch cards I'm contributing, I also have 2 base cards in the set.  And, a very limited Promo card that you can only get thru the distributor's website.   Below is the card, and by clicking her you can go to the spot where you can pick one up...:)

"Axebone" is my fictional alter ego...
my creativity personified, so to speak.
A fantasy, pin-up illustrator that brings to life all of the wonderful characters and beautiful images that bang around inside my delirious little noggin.

The majority of the work that I create in this guise has a whimsical, flirtacious style.  Both sexy... and fun...
without taking itself too seriously... :)
Hopefully, it has also developed a distinctive look that anyone viewing will instantly recognize.

The original art is created with a mix of different mediums... acrylic paints, inks washes, PrismaColor Art Markers, PrismaColor Pencils and India Inks.   Recently, I have been experimenting with digital painting techniques and hope to work more of that into future projects and pieces of art.

Please contact me if you are a model wishing to work with me on creating new art... or if you would like to purchase original work
or commission an original piece of art!

Commissions are currently CLOSED!
Check back soon for more openings.
